On Friday, 8 November 2013, Typhoon Haiyan swept through the central islands of the Philippines. The super typhoon caused major destruction in the province of Leyte and its capital, Tacloban, was the worst-hit. According to United Nations’ estimates, millions of people have been affected and hundreds of thousands have been made homeless.
To help the victims of the typhoon, New Creation Church is working closely with some local churches in the Philippines to bring them much-needed food, water and basic necessities. A total of 13,000 tonnes of goods and medicine have been sent to Catbalogan, Samar on Saturday, 16 November 2013. Another four generators and a utility van have been purchased by our local partners to set up a fully operational relief centre in the affected towns.
New Creation Church has exercised due diligence to ensure that the local churches we are working with are ministries that are bona fide, trustworthy and of integrity.
We have also contributed financially to the Red Cross Haiyan Relief fundraising appeal that the Singapore Red Cross has launched.
Beloveds, as God’s covenant people, we believe there is power in our words. Let’s continue to pray for the people in the Philippines and declare the Lord’s peace, comfort and restoration upon the land.
