Mid-Autumn Celebration 2016: 家 + 爱

Cheerful greetings of “Welcome to New Creation Church” and “The Lord blesses you!” in Mandarin and Hokkien were heard as our volunteers welcomed our congregation and their loved ones into The Star Theatre at The Star Performing Arts Centre for our Mid-Autumn Celebration event at 2.30pm and 4.30pm on Saturday, 3 September 2016.

The event opened on a fun and celebratory note with a song from a popular Korean TV series, accompanied by an energetic dance. The special programme featured Xia Hui, a popular 1970s singer. On stage, she shared about the Lord’s blessings on her family before singing familiar songs from yesteryear and a duet with her eldest son.

After the song medley, a moving testimony video was shown. In it, Kenn C, a well-known music producer and songwriter who volunteers with our church’s worship team, shared about Jesus’ saving grace in his life and marriage.

Right after the video, two singers and a group of musicians including Kenn came on to present “祢是我家 (You Are My Home)”, a song specially written for this event. It tells the story of a person who sought fulfilment through many things in life, but who finally concludes that Jesus is his redemption and hope.

Pastor Mark Ng from our Chinese Ministry then delivered an uplifting message on the unconditional love and grace of our heavenly Father. The message was simultaneously translated into Mandarin by Pastor Christina Wee. And at the end of his sermon, Pastor Mark gave everyone present an opportunity to receive Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. Praise the Lord that some 200 beloveds accepted Him that day!

On their way out after each session, our congregation and their loved ones were also blessed with mooncakes. In all, some 8,700 were at the event, and we believe that God’s Word of redemption and amazing grace has been sown into many hearts.
