On Sunday, 7 August 2016, our church came together as one family to celebrate National Day at our services and to give thanks to God for His blessings on Singapore, our home!
Led by the church's chairman, Deacon Matthew Kang, the services began with the congregation, many sporting temporary tattoos of the Singapore flag on their arms and faces, declaring our unity as a nation as they recited the National Pledge and sang the National Anthem.
After a time of praise and worship with the choir decked in attire reflecting Singapore’s unique multicultural heritage, Pastor Lawrence Lim led the church to pray for our nation, declaring protection, peace, progress, prosperity and unity over Singapore, and wisdom upon the government and our leaders. He also shared an update about local outreach activities where our church got to be a blessing to the community, including the underprivileged, the elderly, those with special needs, and the foreign workers in our midst.
The services also featured a beautiful and moving song presentation, which reflected our prayer and love for Singapore.
Senior Pastor Joseph Prince then preached a powerful sermon on the Holy Communion and Jesus’ finished work in our lives. How blessed are we to have the gospel freely preached in our nation!
