Resurrection Sunday 2016

On Sunday, 27 March 2016, our church gathered together to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ and to thank Him for His wondrous sacrifice. Our ambassadors and ushers welcomed the congregation with a specially designed postcard which they could personalise to remind them of Jesus’ finished work and who they are in Christ.

The service opened with an immersive 3D museum experience that culminated in the presentation of an original song “Hope Of Glory”. Written by New Creation Worship, it speaks of Jesus’ finished work on the cross and the hope of glory that we have in Christ, the great “I AM”. The song is also a Resurrection Sunday gift available as an MP3 download to the congregation until Saturday, 9 April 2016.

The congregation then entered into an exuberant time of praise and worship, giving thanks to Jesus who gave His life for us.

Pastor Daniel Chong then led the congregation in the partaking of the Holy Communion, reminding us that Jesus has died for our sins and paid the price for our healing and wholeness.

Another original song was presented by New Creation Worship titled, “Indeed He Is Risen (Ken Hu Kam)”, which was sung in English and Hebrew. Inspired by Isaiah 53:5, the song centres on how Jesus was crushed for our iniquities, but has risen and is alive forevermore.

Our Resurrection Sunday service continued with the screening of Golgotha, a special presentation of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus produced by Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) in association with our Senior Pastor Joseph Prince. The presentation showed how Christ has triumphed over death. The video is available online in the TBN archives here.

Pastor Prince then shared a powerful message, proclaiming the amazing love of God and declaring the victory we have through the cross.

Resurrection Sunday was celebrated at our children’s ministry Rock Kidz and Chinese services too. The little ones enjoyed lessons and fun activities that pointed to Jesus’ love for them and put up handwritten messages on a tree to give thanks to our risen Lord. Over at our Chinese services, Pastor Mark Ng encouraged the congregation to rejoice over the glorious hope they have in Christ.

Chinese New Year Celebrations 2016

With the Chinese New Year just around the corner, our church came together to celebrate the occasion as one family in Christ.

The English services opened with resounding praise and worship to the Lord in both English and Mandarin. This was accompanied by an acoustic guitar ensemble and a guzheng (a Chinese zither) that brought a special East-meets-West flavour to the praise and worship.

Adding to the Chinese New Year cheer was a medley of performances in Mandarin, Hokkien and Cantonese. The variety show-style medley featured rousing Chinese drums, a heartfelt song that speaks of the Father's love, and a familiar Chinese New Year tune. Rounding off the performances was a music video of the Mandarin song “Sacrifice”, an original New Creation Worship composition.

Then, true to tradition, Pastor Mark Ng from our Chinese Ministry took to the stage and delivered an uplifting message on the key to effortless transformation. He exhorted the congregation to call upon the name of Jesus in times of need and to always be conscious of Christ and His finished work. How wonderful it was to usher in the Chinese New Year with our eyes on the Lord!

Vision Sunday 2016

2016: Possessing Our Possessions. This is the theme of the year for our church that Senior Pastor Joseph Prince unveiled on Sunday, 3 January 2016.

In the Old Testament, the promised land of Canaan was a place where God's people could live in houses they did not build and drink from wells they did not dig (ref: Deuteronomy 6:11). In his message, Pastor Prince expounded on the importance of entering into God’s rest — where we cease from our own works, lean hard on God and receive all that Christ Jesus has given us through the cross. He also exhorted us to not fear the difficulties we may face in the year ahead, but to look to God to bring us into the land “which flows with milk and honey” (ref: Numbers 14:6–9).

This emphasis of looking to Jesus recurred throughout the service, starting from the get-go with the opening item “Royal Colours”, a multimedia dance that depicted how Jesus came to break us out of a world of sin, shame and fear into His righteousness and glorious light.

The dance segued seamlessly into praise and worship as neon-decked youth dancers filled the aisles at The Star Performing Arts Centre and Marina Bay Sands Ballrooms, encouraging the congregation to clap and move in sync and rhythm. Neon wristbands which were distributed before services also added to the fun as congregation members wore and waved them in the air. Together, it symbolised how we want to let His colours and light shine forth in us.

A special item consisting of an original song “Speak To Mountains” by New Creation Worship reiterated the importance of looking to Jesus, who is more than able to see us through any storm we may face in life. The performers sang, danced and played a gamut of instruments, from the guitar, mandolin and drums to the accordion and electric violin.

The sermon climaxed with an animation that speaks of how Jesus’ finished work on the cross has redeemed us and paved the way for us to enter into the promised land — a lush, verdant land flowing with His goodness. Indeed, we shall possess our possessions in 2016!

In closing, Pastor Prince prayed for us to walk with God and, through Him, possess all that Jesus died to give us. He also prayed for God’s protection over us and that we will not be affected by the storms of life.

Thanksgiving Sunday Services 2015

Brimming with gratefulness for all that Daddy God has done in our lives and through us both on home soil and overseas, our church family came with hearts full of thanksgiving on the last service of the year on 27 December 2015.

Services started with a beautiful rendition of the familiar hymn “Great Is Thy Faithfulness”. Together, congregation members lifted up the name of Jesus in an anointed time of praise and worship, giving thanks to the Lord for His goodness.

As a church, we also looked back on 2015 with a video capturing various special occasions and events that took place in the past year. From joyous celebration services and local and overseas outreach efforts to the Grace Revolution USA Tour with Senior Pastor Joseph Prince and a team from our church, each event was a reminder of the Lord’s great grace towards us.

As in years past, Pastor Prince led the congregation in lifting up our three prayer requests for 2016 before our heavenly Father. Those at the Chinese services, and even the little ones at our children’s ministry Rock Kidz, all brought their prayer requests to the Lord too.

We truly have much to be thankful for in 2015, The Year Of His Restoration. And we look forward to what the Lord has in store for us in 2016.

Christmas Celebrations 2015

Tis the season to celebrate! Once again, we gathered together for our Christmas celebrations services as one big New Creation Church family.

Throughout all our service venues, the festive cheer was palpable. Happy greetings of “Blessed Christmas!” were heard as people came for the services, while congregation members gamely took photos with their families and friends using specially designed Christmas-themed props. Those at The Star Performing Arts Centre and Marina Bay Sands Ballrooms were also treated to Christmas carols sung by the choir.

The services kicked off with a string of special performances that featured catchy Christmas tunes as well as two new original songs – “Let The Fire Burn” and “Love Magnificent” – from New Creation Worship about the Lord’s great love for us. The latter was available online as a free song download in the month of December.

One of the highlights of the service was a stunning operatic rendition of “O Holy Night” sung by a singer who was accompanied by a violinist as they were gently lowered from the ceiling on swings.

During praise and worship, the worship team led the congregation in Christmas hymns and songs, exalting the wondrous glories of our Lord Jesus. Pastor Lawrence Lim then led the congregation in the partaking of the Holy Communion and reminded the church of the true reason for season: Jesus.

In his sermon, Senior Pastor Joseph Prince preached on the redeeming blood of our Lord and Saviour, who came as a gift of God’s grace to pay for our sins. What a powerful reminder of how much we are loved by the Lord!

The service ended on a merry note with Pastor Prince leading the congregation in familiar Christmas songs likes “Come On Ring Those Bells” and “Feliz Navidad”.

At Rock Kidz, our children’s ministry, the little ones had a fun time learning about the birth of Jesus through a special sand art video and participating in Christmas-themed games and activities.

Over at our Chinese services held at Marina Bay Sands Ballrooms, a long queue had formed outside the venue even before services began as people arrived early with loved ones to celebrate Christmas. Inside and outside the ballrooms, Christmas-themed props were available for our Chinese-speaking congregation to pose for snapshots with their friends and family. They were encouraged by Pastor Mark Ng who shared a Christmas message on how God gave His Son Jesus for us that we might become His children and enjoy His blessings.

It was truly a time of celebration across all our services and venues today!
