In March 2011, an underwater earthquake occurring off the Pacific coast of Japan’s Tohoku region (Northeast of Tokyo) caused a tsunami that destroyed thousands of homes in the country.
New Creation Church gave US$20,000 towards disaster relief efforts in Japan. Our funds were channelled through Samaritan’s Purse, a non-denominational evangelical Christian organisation that provides spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Since 1970, Samaritan's Purse has helped meet needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine with the purpose of sharing God's love through His Son, Jesus Christ.
The money will be used to buy essential supplies from local Japanese companies to help the victims of the tsunami. It will also help fund the post-disaster clean-up and rebuilding process which involves removing debris and repairing damaged homes.
