We Care

Global Outreach & Local Community Involvement Programmes

Having been blessed to be a blessing, it is our privilege to care and share the good news with people around us. Be it offering our time, services or financial assistance, we put words into action and make an impact on someone else’s life!

Grounding Young Lives In Christ

Thirty-eight university students from The Zone (Youth) Ministry visited Serbnathithaam School in Chiang Mai, Thailand from 7 to 12 July 2012. Ministering to 639 students from Kindergarten One to Secondary Three, our youths were awed by God’s mighty work as they witnessed a great harvest of 190 salvations and received praise reports of children being healed.

Our volunteers

Our youths shared that they had gone on the trip wanting to be a blessing but they were blessed by the children’s responsiveness to Jesus instead! Their exuberant attitude made it easy to form strong bonds and our volunteers thoroughly enjoyed sharing about Jesus with them. They listened intently during lessons on themes like “Jesus Died To Set You Free”, “Receive Jesus’ Love And Reign In Life” and “Jesus Is Your Source Of All Provision”, and clamoured to answer questions.

Learning about Jesus in small groups

Eagerly raising their hands to answer questions

In one of the lessons, the children were told to stick black tape that represented their sins, on a boy dressed up as Jesus. This clear visual experience helped them understand the significance of Jesus taking all their sins at the cross for their sake. In another activity, they made colourful rainbows with tassels to remember God’s promise that He will never be angry with them.

“Jesus Died To Set You Free”— a powerful lesson to help the children see that all their “sins” were pinned on Jesus’ body at the cross

On the last day, our volunteers held a carnival for the children. The school field was abuzz with activity that day as the students enjoyed outdoor games, ice cream treats and gifts specially prepared for them!

Pointing to Jesus’ love

Games!

At the end of the trip, our university student volunteers knew that they have grown tremendously from their experiences — many stepped out of their comfort zone and did things they have never done before. They spoke to large crowds, imparted truths about Jesus to classes, built bonds with children in spite of language barriers and prayed with boldness in Jesus’ name. Among some of the precious testimonies they witnessed: A Primary Two student was healed of a headache on the spot, and another child was healed of a stomachache right after prayers. Above all, our volunteers knew beyond doubt that seeds of God’s love were sowed and planted in tender young lives.
