From 4 to 9 May, Pastor Vegard A Oremo led a team of 31 from our single working adults youth group GenRev on a mission trip to the Kompong Thom Province in Cambodia.
Working closely with local partner One-2-One Cambodia, the team visited Komru Primary School to provide basic health education and to conduct Bible classes for the school children. Separately, they also conducted a Bible camp for children in a nearby village.
Beyond the classroom, the team made house visits to bless villagers with basic food supplies, and took the opportunity to share the gospel with the locals and to pray for them. In addition, they reached out to those living in slums. In total, 786 received Jesus as their Lord and Saviour.
Pastor Vegard also conducted a seminar with 36 local pastors and leaders where he shared about their right standing in Christ. It was a powerful and anointed session where key truths were imparted.
During their time there, the team ran into a man who was treated by Dr Raymond Lim from our medical mission trip to Kompong Thom in May 2014. At that time, he had an almost-severed thumb from a work accident and was told by the local hospital to either amputate the thumb or leave it to heal on its own. Refusing amputation, the man left the thumb untreated until he chanced upon our free clinic and Dr Raymond helped to stitch up the wound for him. A year later, he shares with the GenRev team that his hand is now fully healed!
