From 20 to 23 May 2015, servers from our Logistics and Transport Ministry were in Batam, Indonesia, sharing the love of Jesus with the children at HeRose School.
Upon arriving, the team of 28 servers immediately set themselves to task, painting the exterior and interior of three classrooms, and installing new whiteboards and wall-mounted fans for five other classrooms. These works continued over the next two days with a dedicated group of painters, while the remaining team members focused on planning and conducting interactive Bible lessons for the school children.
Using games, handicrafts, vivid storytelling and action songs, they taught the children about the love of Christ, and how they could seek and draw strength from Jesus. The children experienced God’s love, and took back with them mementos like photos and framed Bible verses.
The team also prepared stationery gift packs and new slippers for the children, and special food packages that included household staples like cooking oil, sugar, milk powder and biscuits for needy families.
Some members of the team, along with a local pastor and translator, then took time to visit eight homes, blessing the families there with the food packages and praying with them.

The children decorated Bible verses with stickers, and made frames for their Polaroid pictures taken with Goliath – a reminder that with Jesus, they can overcome their giants.
