From 13 to 18 July 2015, a group of 30 volunteers from our church were in Cambodia to conduct a three-day Bible camp, conduct health education lessons and make home visits.
Our team of volunteers joined local partner One-2-One Cambodia to minister to the children in Bak Trang Primary School, sharing about God's love and sowing seeds of His Word into their hearts. During their time at the school, the volunteers also gave some of the children a hair wash to get rid of the head lice in their hair, and taught the children the importance of good hygiene.
One volunteer recounted his experience at the primary school: "On the first day, we called for a prayer for those children who are not feeling well. Three boys went to the front and mentioned that they have very bad headaches, so I stood in faith with them and proclaimed healing over them. Not long after the prayer, they told me that they were feeling much better! Their headaches had subsided significantly. Praise Jesus!"
In Sihanoukville on 16 July, our volunteers visited a community of poor factory workers and farmers, and blessed each of the 100 children with a lunchbox containing rice, meat and vegetables. Each child was delighted to receive a pair of new shoes. There, the team also brought joy and fun to the little ones by teaching them some Christian songs.
The following day, our team visited a dumpsite to distribute 100 packets of food and 100 pairs of shoes to the slum children there. The volunteers shared with them the story from the Bible about how Jesus fed the 5,000. Many of the children received Jesus into their hearts that day.
In addition, the NCC team visited homes in two slums in Phnom Penh. They brought along apples and dental hygiene kits for the children as a way of encouraging them to brush their teeth.
Over the six days, a total of 641 precious souls were led to Christ. All glory to God!
