Our Gift Of Love community outreach project has gone global! The newly launched initiative — Gift Of Love GLOBAL (which stands for Giving Little Ones Blessings And Love) — began on 5 December 2015 where Christmas parties were thrown for some 1,750 children, many of whom live in slums and orphanages.
This month-long outreach project was a partnership between our church and local partners in Cambodia, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines. Its aim was to bring festive cheer to underprivileged children and to share the true meaning of Christmas with them.
Beneficiaries of this project included:
- 262 students from Phan Ton and Ban San Saai Schools in Thailand,
- 150 orphans and children in slums in Batam, Indonesia,
- 600 children from Railway, Somrong Meanchey, Baku and House Above Water slums in Cambodia and
- 800 children in slums in the Philippines.
In addition, our church also blessed 1,000 prisoners from Kompong Cham Prison in Cambodia with gift packs of daily necessities and the Gospel of John.
