Ein Gedi
Ein Gedi is an oasis in the desert known for its beautiful springs, caves, and abundant animal life. It is also known as Hazazon Tamar in the Bible (2 Chronicles 20:2). We remember the encounter of King Jehoshaphat against three armies more numerous and powerful than his that came against Judah and how he sought the Lord for help.
This area is also where David encountered King Saul while hiding in the caves from King Saul's persecution (1 Samuel 24).
