In 2009, I suffered from an ectopic pregnancy (a case where the embryo attaches itself outside the uterus). As a result, my left fallopian tube ruptured, causing massive internal bleeding, and I required an emergency surgery to save my life.
Then, my gynaecologist placed me on long term contraceptive pills to help regulate my menstrual cycles, as well as to prevent further unplanned pregnancies.
Come 2017, my husband and I were both in our mid-30s, and we wanted very much to grow our family. At that point, I had not received Jesus, but I knew that when my child came, he or she had to be a blessing from God, whoever He was. Thank God, we conceived within just three months of trying. Even my gynaecologist was pleasantly surprised to see us so soon!
My baby boy was born healthy and strong after 42 weeks of gestation through a smooth, and reasonably short labour.
However, being a first-time mother, I was not fully prepared for caring for a newborn as well as the demands of breastfeeding. It was my desire as a mother fully provide for my baby. However, the struggles of surviving on interrupted sleep and worrying if the baby was having enough to drink took a toll on my body.
Slowly, I slipped into post-natal blues. Eventually, I ended up with mastitis and abscess, a form of bacterial infection inside my breast. I had to go for a procedure and was put on antibiotics to prevent a recurrence.
At that point, I was so depressed and exhausted that I broke down at the clinic. Then, one day when I was at home with the baby, I saw Pastor Prince’s book Live The Let-Go Life which was given to me by a dear friend of mine who attends New Creation Church. She had visited me at the hospital when I delivered and given me the book.
So, I started reading the book while the baby napped. After some time, it became so clear to me what God was doing for me in my life even before I knew Him, and what the Lord Jesus had done for us at the cross.
One week after Resurrection Sunday in 2018, I started attending New Creation Church. My sister, who is also a member of the church, started attending services with me and we got to spend time together every Sunday.
In November 2018, both of us were baptised together!
Now, I have a healthy baby boy who is turning 16 months old and I am believing God for another baby girl!
I am no longer suffering from post-natal blues and all my friends have been telling me how positive I have become. I have also learnt to enjoy being a mummy ever since I understood the need to let go of all our worries to the Lord.
Thank You, Lord Jesus, for loving me even before I knew You. I am greatly blessed, highly favoured and deeply loved. Thank you, Pastor Prince, for writing the book!
