Shine As Stars: National Day Celebrations 2018
Because of Christ in us, we can be God’s beacon of light to the world! On Sunday, 5 August 2018, we celebrated God’s goodness to Singapore, our home and nation, and thanked Him that we get to shine His light as stars to those around us (ref.: Daniel 12:3, NLT).
Waving the Singapore flag high, our friendly ushers and ambassadors warmly welcomed one and all to our service venues across the island.
Throughout the day, we began our services by reciting the National Pledge and singing the National Anthem as a demonstration of our love and honour for the nation. Led by Pastor Lawrence Lim, we also prayed over Singapore and its leaders together as a church family.
To remind everyone in the house that God has marked their lives for greatness and to celebrate the cultural diversity that makes us uniquely Singapore, the creative team presented a funky dance item titled Shining Stars and sang a medley of community songs in different languages.
During the service, Senior Pastor Joseph Prince ministered to those with physical ailments in their bodies before proceeding to preach a powerful sermon on asking God for wisdom and being led by the Holy Spirit.
