On New Year’s Day, 1 January 2017, our Vision Sunday service opened with a laser show and a time of praise and worship. We sang with one heart and voice, offering our thanksgiving to the Lord for His goodness in the past year, and prepared our hearts for 2017. This was followed by the partaking of the Holy Communion, where we were reminded of the Lord’s finished work on the cross.

We then enjoyed a video presentation capturing God’s faithfulness in action through various services, key events and outreach activities that took place in the past year. Each highlight is a reflection of how the Lord had brought the theme for 2016: Possessing Our Possessions, to fruition in our church.

On that high note, we ushered in the new year with an energetic drum and dance item entitled “Rhythms of Grace”. The sounding of the shofar (a ram’s horn) at the start of the item declared our victory in Christ, signifying the saints of God advancing onward to the rhythms of grace.

Senior Pastor Joseph Prince then came on stage to reveal the theme of the year for the church, proclaiming 2017 to be The Year Of Jubilee. Through Jesus Christ’s redemptive work on the cross, we shall have restoration and victory!

In closing, Pastor Prince encouraged us to find rest in Jesus, and to look to Him to deliver us from any challenges we face — no matter how insurmountable they may seem. He also prayed for the Lord’s protection over us and that we will experience the victory He has purchased for us on the cross.
