Christmas Gift Of Love Celebrations 2017
Of all the Christmas gifts, the greatest we could ever receive is Jesus. He is the true reason for the season.
And on Christmas Eve, 24 December 2017, we celebrated and remembered this wonderful gift from God together as a church at our various venues across Singapore.
Together with friends and loved ones, congregation members snapped fun photos, sang along to Christmas carols and exchanged Christmas greetings before the services started.
After that, our services kicked off with a mesmerising multimedia song and dance presentation to the song Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence.
Ballerinas, some in shimmering globes, moved gracefully on stage, portraying the creation and fall of Man that led to God’s amazing redemption plan, as haunting vocals soared in worship.
The worship team then delivered an upbeat rendition of the classic hymn, O Come Let Us Adore Him, calling one and all to give their praise and adoration to Christ the Lord.
A medley comprising Gift Of Love (an original song by New Creation Worship) and Jesus Loves Me, presented by little ones from our children’s ministry, also warmed the hearts of many, inviting people to receive the love of Jesus.
The congregation was then given a glimpse into the struggles and triumphs of Trinity, a teenage cancer survivor, through a touching testimony video.
Many were moved to tears as they watched how the Lord Jesus brought hope and restoration to Trinity, and turned her into a walking testimony of His goodness. Trinity, who was present at our service, then joined Pastor Daniel Chong on stage. Our service venues turned into a sea of lights as the congregation lit up their mobile phones to show their love and support for Trinity and her family.
Our Senior Pastor Joseph Prince and his wife Wendy also conveyed their love and season’s greetings to the church via a video message, reminding us that Christmas is all about celebrating Jesus, the gift above every gift.
Pastor Lawrence Lim then took the stage and expounded on God’s great love for every person — a profound and timeless truth that resonated in the hearts of those present.
Over at our Chinese Ministry, the congregation joined in praise and worship, and sung Christmas carols at a combined Cantonese and Hokkien service as well as a Mandarin service. They were also encouraged by the sharing of testimonies and a sermon by Pastor Mark Ng exhorting them to have a confident expectation of good by applying the Bible truth that as Jesus is in heaven, so are they in this world.
At Rock Kidz, our children’s ministry, the little ones were treated to the story of how God’s only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, is the gift that empowers them to be champions in life. Each child went home with a bag tag bearing the words “I Am Marvellously Made", reminding each of them that they are God’s marvellous creation.
As we celebrate this Christmas and move ahead into 2018, let us remember that Jesus is God’s greatest gift of love who came to redeem us unto Himself.
